Might I suggest that you're pursuing the wrong solution to the problem then? Move the drag start out of the click event. Have the click event note the position of the cursor when the user clicked. Have the datawindow mousemove event check to see if the cursor has moved more than a threshold amount, and then only start the drag when the threshold amount has been exceeded.
